No brumby...but a horse none the less :) |
You can find out more here.
It's a documentary about the removal of the brumbies from a National Park/Wilderness area in the Blue Mountains of NSW, Australia. It's a fascinating documentary because it's really quite unbiased. It gives some of the history of the area, the view of the National Parks, RSPCA, and the horsemen of the area.
The footage of the region is beautiful. The scenes around the campfire are stunning. The work the horsemen are doing is completely breath-taking. And the total and complete calm of their own horses is an absolute testament to their skills, if you don't even watch them get the brumbies moved.
It's raw, rugged, powerful, stunning and breath-taking. It's thought-provoking. It's quite topical and I'm sure discussions with people about the film could make for some interesting ones!
There are some really interesting comments and views aired by the guys involved. And some interesting questions posed too. I laughed, I gasped, I was in awe, and I was moved completely. A film worth watching.
If you think all the bushmen of Australia went with Banjo Patterson, I think you should watch this movie.
Have you seen it? What did you think?
