Inkerman & Blunt publishers have a submission call for Australian Love Letters.
I saw the email and was thinking about what I could write. Then watching TV one night, this woman came into my head and poured her love letter out to me. It was beautiful and had me in tears. Of course, when writing hits you like that, you've no idea what happened...and you've no idea if it's any good.
That's when you need amazing crit partners, beta readers or honest friends. You want to give that writing to someone whose opinion you trust - because you no longer trust your own (well, I don't!).
So, hubby didn't get too affected by it at all. He proofreads rather than feels the words. But he said it wasn't crap, and that's a big thing.
Two of my crit partners read it and both said to send it in, along with crit partner comments to tighten words, drop dialogue, avoid repetition.
So today, I sent it in.
